Ground Pork Tacos
These tacos are easy to make and flavorful. They are made with ground pork and served with a delicious Mexican Cabbage Slaw and hot sauce.

- 2-3 tbsp olive oil , or sub avocado oil
- ½ white onion , diced
- 2 garlic cloves , minced
- 2 tsp chili powder
- 2 tsp ground cumin
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp paprika
- ½ tsp oregano
- pinch of salt , plus more to taste
- 2 tbsp tomato paste
- 1 lb ground pork , or sub ground beef, chicken or turkey
- 1-2 tsp lime juice , plus more to taste
Saute onion and garlic, and add spices and tomato paste.Add diced onion to a pre-heated saute pan with 1-2 tbsp olive oil over medium-high heat. Cook onion for about 3-5 minutes; add garlic and cook for 1 additional minute.Add taco seasoning and tomato paste and stir to combine. Cook pork and season to taste.Add ground pork to the same saute pan. Use a spatula to break it into pieces.Once the pork is cooked, taste and add some lime juice for acidity, or more salt, as needed. Make tacos and enjoy.Add Mexican ground pork to corn or soft tortillas, and top with Cabbage Slaw, pico de gallo, Mexican crema, hot sauce, or other taco toppings, and enjoy!
Leftovers should be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for 3-4 days.
Tips:
- Add taco seasoning and tomato paste after the pork is cooked to remove excess fat or grease.
