Ingredients

Pizza:

  • ½ lb pizza dough homemade or store-bought
  • 6-7 Asparagus with the ends trimmed and then thinly sliced (or cut in half, lengthwise)
  • 6 oz thinly sliced prosciutto
  • cup freshly grated parmesan cheese
  • ½ cup green pea sauce

Green Pea Pizza Sauce:

  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 2 cups shelled green peas fresh or frozen
  • 1 handful of fresh mint
  • 2 handfuls of fresh basil
  • 2 garlic cloves minced
  • ½ of a small shallot minced garlic
  • Pinch of salt and pepper plus more to taste

Instructions

Green Pea Pizza Sauce:

  • To a food processor, add green peas, garlic, shallot, heavy cream, fresh mint leaves, fresh basil leaves, and a pinch of salt and pepper. Blend until smooth. Taste and adjust seasoning by adding more herbs, salt, or pepper.  Transfer sauce to a small bowl.

Pizza:

  • Preheat the oven to 550 degrees F or as hot as your oven gets.
  • Prepare pizza dough.  Flour the surface and flour a rolling pin to roll the dough from the center to the edges until the circle is about half an inch thick.  Once fully rolled out, place parchment paper on your pizza peel, gently pick up the dough, and lay it on top.
  • Spread on the green pea sauce evenly on top of the pizza.
  • Add sliced asparagus, prosciutto, and freshly grated parmesan cheese evenly on top.
  • Gently slide pizza onto the pizza stone and bake for about 10-12 minutes or until the crust is golden brown.
  • Remove pizza from the oven, add desired toppings (fresh basil and more parmesan cheese) on top, and cut into slices to serve immediately.
