Ingredients

  • cup creamy peanut butter We used Wild Friends Creamy Peanut Butter
  • ¼ cup coconut oil melted, but not hot
  • 1 cup packed shredded carrots
  • 2 flax eggs 2 tablespoons flaxseed and 4 tablespoons water
  • ½ tsp baking powder
  • 1 ½ cups whole wheat flour or substitute with all-purpose flour

Coconut-Peanut Butter Glaze

  • ¼ cup creamy peanut butter
  • 2 tsp coconut oil

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • Prepare the flax eggs in a bowl by adding 2 tbsp ground flaxseed with 4 tbsp of water. Mix and let the mixture sit for a few minutes or until it becomes sticky (consistency of an egg white).
  • Add melted coconut oil, creamy peanut butter, and shredded carrots to the bowl and mix to combine.
  • Add flour and baking powder on top of the mixture, tossed together first, then mix until a dough is formed.
  • Sprinkle about 1 tsp of flour on a smooth surface and roll out the dough to 1 cm thick. Use a biscuit cutter to make shapes (or use a top of a glass). Carefully transfer cut dough to the baking sheet, and bake for 20 minutes.
  • Make Peanut Butter Icing while the treats are baking.  Whisk together 2 teaspoons of coconut oil with 1/4 cup of peanut butter.  Microwave for 10 seconds and whisk again until the icing becomes soft and smooth.
  • Remove the treats from the oven and let them cool completely.
  • Once the treats are cooled, drizzle the icing on top and place them in the freezer for 5-10 minutes, or until the icing hardens. Treat your pups with one of these treats.
