Homemade Simple Syrup for Margarita
- ½ cup water
- ½ cup cane sugar
Casamigos Margarita
- 3 oz Casamigos Reposado Tequila
- 1 oz Fresh Lime Juice
- ¾ oz Homemade Simple Syrup or substitute Agave Nectar for a Skinny Margarita
To Serve
- Lime Wedge, or Dehydrated Lime Wheel
- Kosher or Flaked Sea Salt for Rimming the Glass
- Ice
Make Simple Syrup. Using: 1/2 cup water and 1/2 cup Cane Sugar.Option 1: Using a tea kettle, pour equal parts of hot water with sugar in a glass. Stir until sugar is dissolved. Option 2: Add equal parts of water and sugar to a sauce pan and heat up until sugar is dissolved.Chill in Freezer for 10 minutes before using, or in the Fridge. Add ingredients and ice. Add Reposado tequila, fresh lime juice, simple syrup and ice to a cocktail shaker.
Rim the glass: Optional - Rim half of a highball glass with a lime wedge and dip the glass in a bowl with kosher or flaked sea salt.
Shake and strain. Shake vigorously and strain the drink into the rimmed highball glass filled with ice.
Garnish and serve. Add a fresh lime wedge or dehydrated lime wheel. Make it fancy and enjoy.
