- ½ cup sugar
- 3 tbsp water or substitute with fresh Orange or Lemon Juice
- 16 oz fresh strawberries, or frozen
To a sauce pan, add cane sugar, fruit, and water (or substitute fresh orange or lemon juice) and bring it to a simmer over medium heat, mixing continuously with a spatula or wooden spoon for about 7-10 minutes
Once the fruit starts to break down releasing their sweet juices, turn off the heat and get a bowl ready with a strainer.
Strain the sweet sauce from the pulp over the bowl. Use the back of a wood spoon or spatula to press down on the cooked strawberries to help separate all the juice.
Cool the sauce before enjoying!
Strawberry Coulis Recipe Variations
- Add 5-8 Rose Petals to the strawberries. Adding two together make a nice floral and fruity pair.
- Add a tiny amount (1/4 teaspoon) of Vanilla Extract to the strawberries. This compliments the Strawberries very well without being overpowering in vanilla.
- Add 1-2 tablespoons of Lemon Juice or Orange Juice to the strawberries. This adds a nice tangy fruit flavor to the strawberries.
