These Strawberry Lime Margaritas are fruity, refreshing, slightly spicy, and tasty! Instead of going the frozen strawberry margarita route, we used ripe strawberries to make a strawberry simple syrup! What we love about these margaritas is the flavor! We love the mixture of lime, spicy, strawberries, and tequila. It’s definitely refreshing and tasty, and y’all are going to love it!
The Chile Margarita Seasoning from Spiceology gives this drink an extra punch of citrusy, sweet & spicy, but it’s completely optional. If you want a non-spicy drink, skip this step. If you don’t have any on hand, but want that spicy kick, add jalapeño in its place when making the simple syrup. This is the key to not making the drink too spicy, but if you prefer a nice spicy bite, add some jalapeño slices to the shaker!
Step 1: Make the Simple Syrup – To a medium pot, add the water, sugar, sliced strawberries, and the Chile Margarita Seasoning or jalapeño slices (or omit if avoiding spice). Over medium heat, stir until the sugar dissolves, and the strawberries break down and release their juice. Remove from the heat to cool for 5 minutes, and transfer to a blender to purée. Transfer mixture to a glass jar and place in the refrigerator until ready to use.
Step 2: To an ice-filled cocktail shaker, add the Tequila, Cointreau, lime juice, and the strawberry simple syrup using a jigger. Shake until chilled.
Step 3: By using a lime wedge, moisten the rim of a glass, and flip the glass upside down and dip it in salt. Add ice to the glass and carefully pour the drink over the ice. Garnish with a fresh strawberry before serving.
Add ingredients to a blender with 1 cup of ice and pulse until slushy. Pour into prepared glasses and enjoy!
When making the Simple Syrup, do not add the Chile Margarita Seasoning or Jalapeños.
This Strawberry Lime Margarita Recipe is simple to make, fruity, sweet, slightly spicy, and super tasty! It’s a great refreshing drink to enjoy during the warmer days with friends and family. We hope you all love it as much we do! Cheers! ♡
