holding a Naan Bread Pizza with marinara, peppers mozzarella and basil.

Welcome back to another Pizza Friday! This week we wanted to share the easiest pizza recipe with you! Mini Naan Pizza! Using Naan to make pizza is a great idea because it’s faster than ordering pizza and tastes way better!

Packaged Naan is easy to find these days too. We buy Stonefire’s Naan from Costco, but other wholesale grocery stores sell it too. Our Costco only sells mini Naan, but it doesn’t matter because everyone can make 1-2 Naan pizzas with their favorite toppings. We love making mini Naan pizza instead of making frozen box pizza. It’s easy and very delicious!

🫓 What is Naan Bread?

Naan is flat-like, yeast-leavened, oven-baked bread. It originated in Iran and Central Asia, and in parts of India, Naan is known as a thick flatbread and is very popular.

🍕 Ingredients

This pizza recipe is simple to make, and all you need are a few staple ingredients.

  • Veggies of Choice. We like using a variety of veggies for our pizza, but our go-to’s are sweet peppers, mushrooms, red onions, spinach, or arugula.
  • A protein of choice. You can keep your pizza vegetarian or add a protein of choice, like pepperoni or a delicious homemade sausage.
  • Cheese. We always use fresh Mozzarella when making pizza rather than the pre-shredded cheese because it has additives that help the cheese for caking.
  • Additional Toppings. We love adding fresh basil, grated parmesan cheese, and red pepper chili flakes on top. Sometimes we have buttermilk ranch on the side for dipping the crust in.

For our post, we used our homemade tomato sauce, sweet peppers, spinach, and grated mozzarella cheese as our toppings. But the toppings are unlimited! You could even use a garlic and olive oil sauce in place of the traditional marinara.

🥫 Instructions

Making naan pizza is very easy. Simply add your toppings to the smooth side of the naan bread, and bake the pizza in the oven for 10-15 minutes until the edges become crispy! Some recipes recommend baking the Naan bread first, but we found that baking everything together at one time was the quickest and easiest. Plus, the results are the same!

  • Preheat Oven & Prep Ingredients. Prep your toppings of choice, and preheat the oven to 550 °F or the highest temperature it can get with a pizza stone inside if you have one.
  • Add Toppings. Add all toppings to the flat side of the naan bread, starting with the marinara sauce, then generously add sliced veggies of choice, protein of choice, and diced cheese.
  • Bake the naan pizza. Transfer the mini pizzas to a baking sheet lined with parchment paper or add them to the heated pizza stone in the oven. Bake the pizzas at the highest temperature (550° F) your oven can get for about 10-15 or until the edges are crispy and the cheese is melted.
  • Enjoy. Add fresh basil leaves, a pinch of red chili flakes, and parmesan cheese (optional) before serving.

❔ FAQs

Can you make Naan Pizza on the stovetop?

Yes, you will want to add some olive oil to a sauté pan over medium heat and cook the naan pizza on the flat side for about 5 minutes.

Remove the naan from the pan to add toppings on the flat side. Transfer back to the pan and cook on low heat for an additional 10 minutes with the lid on. Cook until the crust is browned and the cheese is melted.

How to store leftovers and reheat the next day

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat leftovers in a pan with olive oil to make the crust crunchy and delicious!

Best Wine with Naan Pizza

We like to serve this Naan pizza with a nice bottle of Red. The bold wine flavors complement the pizza seasoning perfectly with each bite.

Making Naan Pizza is super easy and delicious! It’s the perfect pizza recipe for quick and easy dinners or lunches! All you got to do is add your favorite toppings and bake them to yummy perfection!
