🥭 🍓 Ingredients

This easy mango smoothie has the ideal balance of sweetness and tartness, using ingredients you may already have on hand. Of course, if you stock frozen fruit for smoothies, but just in case, let’s dive in to see what simple ingredients you need to make this healthy drink!

  • Frozen strawberries. Whole fruits or sliced fruits. You could also use fresh strawberries.
  • Frozen mangos. You could also use fresh mango, but make sure it’s ripe.
  • Ripe Banana — We prefer to use a frozen banana. But, if you don’t have any, add some ice for that cold, creamy consistency.
  • Plain greek yogurt. Or, substitute with your favorite yogurt.
  • Non-dairy milk. Options include coconut milk or coconut water, oat milk, or almond milk. For fewer calories, substituted with water works too. If you want more vitamin c, replace it with orange juice.
  • Optional — Protein Powder. To make this a healthy and filling smoothie, add 1 scoop of your favorite vanilla protein powder.
  • Ice. Only add ice cubes if using fresh fruit and not frozen. Frozen fruit gives this smoothie that cold creamy consistency and you won’t need ice cubes.
  • Optional — Add-ins for an energy boost: chia seeds, spinach, or hemp seeds. Sometimes we will top the smoothie with coconut shavings or add a drizzle of peanut butter.

🥤 Instructions

  • Blend. Add all ingredients to a high speed blender, and blend until creamy.
  • Serve. Pour smoothie into 2 glasses and enjoy!

🧋 How to make this Smoothie Vegan

It’s easy to make this smoothie into a vegan smoothie! Substitute use vegan yogurt or omit it by adding 1/4 cup of non-dairy milk. Our favorite non-dairy milk for smoothies is oat milk and cashew milk, which both have a nice creamy and neutral flavor.

FAQs

How to freeze fresh fruit

When fruit is ripe, cut it up and add it freezer-safe Ziploc bag, and store in the freezer for up to 1 month.

Can I make this recipe into a smoothie bowl?

Yes. First, we want to make this a thicker smoothie, and to do this; we recommend using all frozen fruit or an extra 1/2 cup of ice to the current recipe. For a thinner smoothie, you may want to use fresh fruit and only frozen mango and ice to thicken the texture.

What kind of yogurt is best for smoothies?

We recommend greek yogurt for a thick and creamy smoothie. Our favorites are Chobani Plain Nonfat Greek Yogurt, Fage Greek Yogurt, or Siggi’s Strained Yogurt. We prefer to use 2% Greek yogurt, but both 0% and 5% work well too. For vegan yogurt, we like Siggi’s vanilla plant-based coconut blend yogurt. Several other brands are also available that are plant-based, but we have not tried these, so we recommend using your favorite yogurt for this smoothie.

How to store leftover smoothie?

This smoothie is best enjoyed fresh right from the blender. However, if you would like to store it to enjoy later, we recommend storing it in an Insulated Steel Travel Mug in the fridge. It should keep the smoothie cold, but it might not be as thick as it is straight from the blender.

This delicious smoothie has the perfect balance of sweetness. It’s vegetarian and gluten-free, and can be enjoyed any time of day! It’s packed with protein, fats, and vitamins to start your day on a healthy note. It’s easy to make and will keep you full for hours. We hope you like our Mango Strawberry Banana Smoothie Recipe. Enjoy! ♡
